Cas12l platform

Caszyme has identified and characterized a unique family of Cas12l nucleases (~850 amino acids in size) that have no sequence homology with other Cas12 proteins, recognize the CCY PAM sequence, addressing key gene editing challenges and expanding the CRISPR toolbox. Cas12l stands out for its small size and versatility.

  • Identified and characterized by Caszyme
  • No sequence homology to other Cas12 proteins
  • ~850 aa in size (vs Cas9 1368 aa)
  • 5-9 nt 5’ overhangs formed after cleavage
  • dsDNA cleavage with CCY PAM
  • No cell toxicity observed
